実証政治経済学拠点プログラム・マネージャー。1999年東京大学法学部卒業。2001年東京大学大学院法学政治学研究科修士課程修了（政治学）。2010年ミシガン大学政治学部博士課程修了（政治学）。国際大学大学院国際関係学研究科講師、東北大学大学院法学研究科准教授・教授を経て、現在、早稲田大学政治経済学術院教授及び経済産業研究所ファカルティフェロー、東京財団政策研究所研究主幹。
Program Manager of the Center for Positive/Empirical Analysis of Political Economy. Prof. Ono graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Tokyo in 1999, received an LLM from the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, University of Tokyo, in 2001, and also a PhD in political science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2010.
After working as an assistant professor in the Graduate School of International Relations, International University of Japan, and associate professor in the Graduate School of Law, Tohoku University, now he is a professor at Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University.
His work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science,
Journal of Politics, Political Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly,
Political Science Research and Methods, and other journals.
