Keiichi Kubo received his Ph.D. from London School of Economics and Political Science in 2007 and joined the faculty at Waseda University in 2008. His research interests include democratization, elections and party system, ethnic politics, civil war, transitional justice and reconciliation, with special emphasis on the ex-Yugoslav countries. He has published a monograph on ex-Yugoslavia, titled The State Torn Apart: Democratization and Ethnic Problems in the Former Yugoslavia (Tokyo: Yushindo-Kobunsya, 2003) as well as various journal articles, book chapters and co-edited books. His English publications include articles in Europe-Asia Studies and Ethnopolitics as well as book chapters in The Ashgate Research Companion to Secession (Ashgate, 2011), Secessionism and Separatism in Europe and Asia: To Have a State of One’s Own (London: Routledge, 2013) and Party Primaries in Comparative Perspective (Farnham: Ashgate, 2015).
