1998年早稲田大学政治経済学部卒業、2000年早稲田大学大学院政治学研究科修士課程卒業、ならびに同博士後期課程入学、2002年～2004年日本学術振興会特別研究員、2004年～2005年ベルギー王国・フランデレン政府給費留学（カトリックルーヴェン大学社会政治世論調査研究所）後2006年英国エセックス大学政治学部Ph.D取得。2006年～2007年ベルギー王国カトリック新ルーヴァン大学比較政治センター・ポスドクフェロー、2007年～2010年首都大学東京（東京都立大学）社会科学研究科、ならびに、都市教養学部法学系政治学コース准教授、2010年～2014年早稲田大学政治経済学術院准教授を経て、2014年より早稲田大学政治経済学術院教授。2016年4月～2018年3月ミラノ大学、ブリュッセル自由大学、ハーバード大学、モントリオール大学にて在外研究。
